Hello! I’m Ms Rachel, founder and director of Olive Tree Academy!
From as far back as I can remember, I’ve always had a heart for children. I dreamed of having a big family and creating a home full of love, learning, and purpose.
In 2005, I met my husband, and in 2013, we began our journey as a foster family—eventually growing our family to 10 children, 9 of whom are girls! We live on acreage where we’re building a small homestead together, and our days are filled with animals, and hands-on learning.
Staying home to raise and teach my children was always a priority. I began teaching preschool from my home in 2006 and have continued ever since. I’m currently homeschooling my 8th, and 10th graders while overseeing the growth of Olive Tree Academy.

Hi! My name is Morgan Sharketti, and I’m excited to be teaching Kindergarten and 1st Grade with The Olive Tree!
I am a certified elementary educator with a B.A. in Music Education, certifications in K-12 Music Education and K-8 General Education. I have experience teaching Kindergarten through 3rd grade elementary education and K-8th Grade music education, with a special focus on early literacy and foundational reading skills.
Throughout my career, I have worked as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, tutor, orchestra director, and private music instructor. I have also completed LETRS training in the science of reading, which has strengthened my approach to helping young learners build strong foundations in phonics, reading, writing, and language.
I believe young children learn best when they feel safe, encouraged, curious, and excited to participate. I love incorporating hands-on activities, movement, music, creativity, and play into learning while providing the structure and explicit instruction children need to be successful.
Outside of the classroom, I am a lifelong musician and teach violin, viola, piano, and guitar. I also love gardening, nature, animals, and finding creative ways to make learning meaningful. I’m looking forward to getting to know each of my students, celebrating their growth, and helping them develop confidence and a lifelong love of learning!
